01 · ABOUT THE ROLE

About this chromium developer role

We're hiring a Chromium developer to work on custom browser builds — forking, rebasing, and hardening Chromium for clients who need something a standard browser can't do. You'll work inside the Chromium source tree itself, not a wrapper around it, on projects ranging from enterprise security browsers to product-specific forks.

This full-time chromium developer position in our Engineering department offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects. As a remote position, you can work from anywhere in the world while collaborating with our global team. We're looking for candidates with 4+ years of relevant experience and a passion for building scalable, high-quality software solutions.

At Entalogics, we value transparency, quality, and innovation. As a Chromium Developer, you'll collaborate with our team, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow professionally in a supportive environment.

02 · RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities

As a Chromium Developer at Entalogics, you will be responsible for:

  • Build and maintain custom Chromium forks from upstream
  • Work directly in the Chromium/Blink/Mojo source tree with GN and Ninja
  • Implement browser-level features: policy enforcement, custom UI surfaces, sandboxing changes
  • Rebase forks onto new Chromium releases and resolve upstream conflicts
  • Harden browser builds against known CVEs and track upstream security patches
  • Set up and maintain code-signing and auto-update pipelines for shipped builds
  • Document architecture decisions for client handoff
03 · REQUIRED

Required qualifications & skills

To be successful in this Chromium Developer role, you should have:

  • 4+ years of C++ development experience
  • Hands-on experience building or modifying Chromium from source
  • Understanding of Chromium's process model (browser/renderer/GPU) and Mojo IPC
  • Experience with GN and Ninja build systems
  • Familiarity with Blink rendering internals or sandboxing (site isolation, seccomp-bpf)
  • Comfortable rebasing a fork onto a new upstream release
  • Strong debugging skills across a multi-million-line codebase
04 · NICE TO HAVE

Bonus points for

  • Previous work on a shipped Chromium fork or enterprise browser
  • Experience with Electron for comparison/context
  • Knowledge of browser extension APIs (Manifest V3)
  • Familiarity with code-signing and notarization across Windows/macOS/Linux
  • Contributions to the open-source Chromium project
05 · WHAT WE OFFER

What we offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Remote work flexibility
  • Work on a genuinely rare specialization — real Chromium source work, not browser skinning
  • Direct line to the engineers, no account-manager layer
  • Professional development opportunities
