About this backend developer role
We're hiring a backend developer to design and build the APIs, data models, and infrastructure that our frontend and mobile work sits on top of. You'll own services from schema design through deployment, on a Node.js-first stack with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

Key responsibilities
As a Backend Developer at Entalogics, you will be responsible for:
- Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Design database schemas and write efficient queries (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Build and maintain backend services in Node.js/TypeScript
- Implement authentication, authorization, and data-security practices
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend services
- Monitor and optimize API performance in production
- Work directly with frontend and mobile developers on API contracts
Required qualifications & skills
To be successful in this Backend Developer role, you should have:
- 3+ years of professional backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
- Production experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
- Experience designing RESTful APIs; GraphQL a plus
- Understanding of authentication/authorization patterns (JWT, OAuth)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and code review
Bonus points for
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
- Experience with message queues or event-driven architecture
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and indexing strategy
- Previous experience building APIs consumed by both web and mobile clients
